What is Shani Sade Sati ?

According to vedic astrology, the state of the planet Saturn that has the duration of seven and a half years is called the Dasha of Shani Sade Sati.

The state of Shani Sade Sati occurs when Saturn regularly transits from one sign to another sign.

Since Shani moves slower than other planets, it stays in one sign for at least two and a half years and then it enters another zodiac sign.

Shani affects three zodiac signs at a time. When Shani is in the twelfth or first or second house from the birth sign of a person, this phenomenon is called Shani Sade Sati.

There are three stages of Shani Sade Sati. Each stage of Shani covers two and a half years of time.
